See the world as an international student!
 
Studying for an Edexcel International qualification in your home country is an excellent way to prepare for life as an international student in areas such as the UK, the US, continental Europe or Australia. And these parts of the world will provide you with a range of wonderful experiences that will enhance your knowledge of different people, cultures and lifestyles.
 
There are lots of benefits in taking some time to study abroad. Enhanced future job prospects may be one positive aspect, but there are so many more. Studying in a foreign institution and country opens you up to another world and new cultures too. It goes deeper than a holiday would do, in that you have the chance to discover lots of new aspects that will help you in the future and enable you to develop numerous skills and attributes, such as confidence and communication.
 
Spending time away from familiar surroundings, family and friends will provide you with the chance to learn new skills, such as looking after yourself, cooking, sorting your finances, and going out to meeting new people from different backgrounds. In many countries and cultures, some time spent abroad in a new environment away from home comforts is seen as a key part of the coming-of-age process.
 
Away from studying, there are lots of things to see and do. Check out the Notting Hill Carnival in London and participate in one of the world’s largest and most popular street festivals.  Go surfing, or try a range of water sports at the numerous beaches around Australia. Discover the cosmopolitan nature of New York, taking in Central Park and the massive selection of boutiques, shops, and department stores. Go and see some Flamenco dancing in Spain and enjoy the vibrant colours, flowing dresses and mesmerising rhythms coming from the dancers and their accompanying music.
 
Along with discovering the local culture and community, study abroad can make you culturally aware, as you will mix with other international students who may be from many different parts of the world. You will form strong friendships with your classmates and also the acquaintances you make away from your studies, who will become life-long friends. Spending time in a different culture will not only broaden your horizons, but will also encourage your personal development in many ways.
